Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve.
No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Delta, the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the Kalahari Desert. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands.
The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. Resident hippos will generally serenade you year round from the water on the floodplain in front of the camp. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities including hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. The forested island on which the camp sits is typical of those encountered throughout the vast 1.6 million hectares of the Okavango Delta. Here our guests can enjoy a diverse wildlife experience all year-round, but the focus is definitely on the water. Umlani Eco Camp, Timbavati Reserve, Kruger, South Africa Day 5-7
On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be transferred to the Cape Grace.
The city of Cape Town has become one of the most popular long haul holiday destinations in the world. This is not surprising considering it is situated at the base of Table Mountain, one of the most recognisable mountains in the world. Add to that the gorgeous beaches, incredible and unique cuisine, world class wines, vibrant night-life, warm African hospitality, intriguing culture and history, exceptional bio-diversity, whale-watching, ocean kayaking, scuba diving, sailing, kaleidoscopic wild flower blooms, mind-blasting walking & rock climbing opportunities and the fact that a National Park runs right through the city and you may wonder why you aren’t there right now.
Cape Town also offers a variety of tours around the city and further a field, to the Cape Winelands, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, Kirstenbosch Gardens and Township Tours.
With a classically inspired exterior and gracefully elegant within, Cape Grace is set on its own private quay on Cape Town’s vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Cape Grace’s charm lies in its intimate atmosphere, stylish décor and unique personalised hospitality, where you will find staff warm and flexible, with a spirit of unrivalled generosity.
When Charles Brand, his wife Beth and parents Chippy and Cynthia opened the doors of Cape Grace to the world in December 1996, their vision was a hotel that felt more like a good friend’s home. In an understated way the décor and environment needed to reflect its 5-star aspirations. But, more importantly, staff needed to relate to guests as personal hosts, with warmth and a sense of comfort in their own individuality.
At every level there is complete trust in the idea that if everyone is the best they can individually be, all else will follow.

The enchanting experience of the Makgadikgadi starts as the sun sets. The sun baked earth relaxes as the soft warm light washes over the barren landscape. You will spend the evening gazing up at the seemingly endless and mystical canopy of stars.
“Fly-camping” means to camp with only the bear essentials. In this case, simply your bed and bedroll set out on the pans, with one toilet and shower shared by all. This is the best way to fully appreciate the magic of the Makgadikgadi. However, tents will be available on request.

The grand finale being a leisurely afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River against the backdrop of a magnificent African sunset.

Savuti
In sharp contrast to the lush Chobe river front is the seemingly endless desolate landscape of the Savuti, famous for the dry marsh, sand ridge and volcanic hills which are unique to this area. The marsh once contained the waters of the Makgadikgadi superlake, and the most typical feature of the landscape are the dead trees – evidence of the erratic flow of the Savuti channel over the years. The area consists of large open game-filled plains, and is home to a variety of dry-land animals, including zebra, wildebeest, kudu, giraffe, wild dog, leopard, cheetah and lion.
Savuti Day 7, 8 & 9

Okavango Delta & Moremi Game Reserve
The Okavango is a unique ecosystem, an inland delta situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world – the Kalahari basin. This wetland lies like an oasis in an otherwise inhospitable landscape. Where land and delta meet, a mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests and lagoons provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat where a multitude of animals and birds flourish. This wetland is one of the natural wonders of the world, and is a fragile ecosystem that remains one of the world’s least spoilt and most beautiful wildernesses, and is home to various unique species e.g. sitatunga antelope and red lechwe.
Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the eastern corner of the Okavango Delta. Moremi is one of the most beautiful and varied reserves found on the African continent with huge concentrations of wildlife and incredible scenery. The reserve consists of both swamped areas e.g. Xakanaxa, and dry-land areas e.g. Khwai.

In this “predator capital of Africa”, wild dog, lion, cheetah and leopard abound, and guests enjoy exceptional opportunities to interact with this amazing environment. Recently, white rhino have been introduced to this concession, making it the only place in Botswana where these magnificent animals can be seen in their natural habitat.
Chief’s Camp has been so skillfully integrated into the landscape that guests can often view game without even leaving camp. Shaded from the heat of the day by a beautiful grove of jackalberry trees, Chief’s Camp is so remote you’ll feel like the only humans for miles and miles.
Twelve secluded, permanent luxury bush pavilions are designed for ultimate privacy and comfort, and to offer you a front row seat for this rich and rewarding African adventure. Each features an en suite bathroom and private game viewing deck.
Game viewing opportunities include daily excursions in open four-wheel-drive vehicles and quiet mokoro trips along narrow Delta channels during the flood season. Expert guides are always on hand to offer a wealth of wildlife knowledge, to help you make the most of these rare and wonderful opportunities.
Day 5 Chiefs Camp - Maun
After an early morning game activity and breakfast at Chiefs Camp you will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Maun, where your safari ends.
Chiefs Island, Okavango Delta Day 3-5
Set amongst the shady trees and water of the Okavango Delta, the small and intimate Baines Camp will feature four luxurious suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line. Wooden decks will offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life. The elevated suites will feature a spacious bedroom, with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era. The four-poster beds will be fully mobile, thus giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies. Avid astronomers will delight in stargazing from the privacy of their own deck. During the day, custom-made hammocks will lure relaxation in the sunshine.
The inspiration for Thomas Baines’s paintings is evident when looking at the waterscape that lies beyond the lodge. The main area will feature an oversize deck for outdoor dining and views over the permanent water of the lagoon. This area, situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi, is superb for viewing all animal and bird species. Guests will explore by land and water, often into the night to discover nocturnal species. The permanent water of the camp will reveal a world of floating safaris, atmospherically silent at the gentle pace of a poled mokoro, or faster in a comfortable shaded motorboat. A myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, and animal species large and small are waiting to be discovered. Sometimes there is no better way to tune into the bush than on foot, and walking safaris will be a specialty at Baines, with skilled, armed guides introducing the area’s natural wonders.
Day 3
After an early morning game drive and breakfast at Baines Camp, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter flight to Chiefs Camp for two nights.
Johannesburg - Maun Day 1
Nxai Pan is younger in age than the larger dry lakes to the South (Sua and Ntwetwe). Some of the pans are salt covered, while others, such as Nxai Pan are covered with lush grasses and islands of acacia trees. The area characterised by its undulating grass plains, mixed woodland, palm belts and mopane scrub to the north, has created a natural haven for a diverse range of mammals. From the magnificent Gemsbok crossing the endless plains to the rare Brown Hyena, not to mention Aardwolf, Giraffe, Ostrich, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Springbok, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and the Wild Dog. The area is also an important crossroad for much larger mammals that migrate between the Okavango and Chobe in the North and Boteti in the South. Elephants have crossed this area since the great lake, leaving a network of age-old paths that lead from pan to pan in search of water and grazing. This area was also an important crossroad for the early European explores, such as David Livingston. It was through this wilderness he passed on his way to discovering the mighty Victoria Falls.
Day10 You will drive back to Maun airport to meet your connecting flight to Jo’Burg South Africa.
