Chale Island is a small romantic island situated about 600 meters from the mainland of Kenya and 10 kilometers south of Diani on the Kenya coast. It is a nature reserve with a white, sandy beach, tropical rainforest, a wealth of animals, bird life and sulfur springs. Chale Island Paradise is a member of the Romantic Hotel Chain. A chain dedicated to unique cultural accommodation in harmony with nature away from mass tourism.
• Chale Island Paradise is mostly furnished with African Arabic antiques. It’s roomy and elegant tented bungalows and apartments have a combined living and bedroom, a shower and toilet, and a separate terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean.
• There are a total of 55 rooms on the island: 35 - tented bungalows, 16 - Apartment rooms, 2 - luxurious penthouses and 2 - Executive Villas.
• The tented bungalows are makuti thatched and have their own little sunbathing beach. They are situated directly on the seafront and on the pool.
Culinary and Dining Experience
• Two restaurants offer local and international cuisine with fresh seafood direct from the Indian Ocean. A possible meal plans consist of Bed/Breakfast, half board or full board arrangements.
• The main restaurant is well known for its balanced buffets during all meal times. It caters for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. A-la-Carte menus are also available.
• The Japanese restaurant is the only one of its kind on the coast. Gourmets will love the preparation of food while enjoying the cozy atmosphere.
Indian Ocean Beach Vacation Experience and Activities
• The island invites not only for sunbathing and relaxing but it provides a lot of leisure and sports activities as well as tours and excursions. The most unforgettable is the Island hopping to the Archipelago of Lamu.
• Chale has a fully equipped diving base/school. A professional instructor is present from July till April.
• Included in your holiday package is the romantic boat ride into the mysterious world of the mangrove forests near Gazi-Bay and an exploring island walk through the rain forest of Chale Island.
• All health-concerned guests can take advantage of the healing mud of Chale. A few meters from the island (during low tide) one will find sulfur springs, which are reputed to treat most kinds of skin diseases and joint pains. No extra cost is involved.
• You can also treat yourself to a massage, pedicure or manicure for a reasonable fee.
• Chale - Diani is a gazetted Marine park with fantastic marine life. Trained staff will take you out to the coral reef in the translucent, blue-green waters of the Indian Ocean.
