Old Mill Guest House & Restaurant

The Old Mill Guest House, originally used as a watermill, has been lovingly renovated to offer a comfortable Cape style guest house with restaurant in a National Monument.

Just off the N2 close to the Ashton road the Old Mill has private guest parking,individually decorated cottages each have private entrance, set in a mature garden.
It is easy to relax here; the welcome is warm, the smiles genuine and the style casual.
Six different rooms are welcoming, with fluffy towels, robes and fresh flowers.

The breakfast and pleasant atmosphere are definitely worth getting out of bed for.
You can enjoy candlelight dinner on the premises, inside or outside under the vine leaves.

Oewerzicht Luxury Tented River Lodge & Farm Cottages

Oewerzicht farm is situated in the peaceful and picturesque Greyton Valley only 9km from Greyton. Oewerzicht is a fully operational farm with fresh apples, pears, grapes or citrus available from January to June.

The rest of the 600 ha farm consists of rolling wheat lands, lots of cattle and a herd of Reebok. Birdwatchers will also be delighted to see, amongst other, blue cranes, secretary birds, and large flocks of guinea fowl.

You are of course free to hike all over the place, or bring your mountain bikes along to enjoy the farm. We also have fishing rods, tractor tubes and a canoe available to use on the river. There are two lovely braai facilities on the river bank to use.

Oewerzicht farm has six luxury tents with each with it en suite bathroom and seven cottages.

Welgeleë and Bergzicht are semi-detached and was the original farmhouse.

The old blue gum ceilings and oregon pine doors creates a real farmhouse atmosphere.

The cottages are situated on the edge of a citrus orchard and about 100 m from the Riviersonderend River where you can do some excellent bass fishing.

Each cottage has its own outside as well as an inside braai facility. The cottages are decorated with old oregon pine and oak furniture that enhances the atmosphere. The two tree houses in the citrus orchards equipped with mattresses is ideal for mum and dad to take a afternoon nap or for the kids to play in.

Uitsig are four freestanding cottages set next to each other about 300 m from the river on a hill with spectacular mountain views. Each cottage has two bedrooms with double beds, one bathroom, and open plan kitchen living room area with inside as well as outside braai facilities. Uitsig cottages do have a swimming pool between the four.

All seven cottages are fully equipped with all essential appliances. Towels, linen and wood are provided. There are canoes, tractor tubes and a raft for the guests to use.

Oceanside Guesthouse

Ocean View Lodge is a small country hotel owned by the same family since 1989. It is situated on 21 acres of “dreamland” on a unique narrow peninsula and surrounded by the azure waters of the Knysna Lagoon and the gentle Indian Ocean.

FACILITIES:
Ocean View Lodge has a restaurant where a full English breakfast is served. Listen to romantic music while admiring Brenton’s sunset. Sometimes you can see the famous “green flash” when the sun disappears in the Indian Ocean. Sundowners are served as well from 6 p.m. with snacks included.

Beach volley ball court for energetic, swimming pool and hikes on the property to the picnic spot on the top of the hill. Aromatherapy, Shiatsu and Soft laser facials are offered on the property by appointment.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES:

Ocean View House, accredited with the Yzerfontein / Cape Town Tourism Bureau, is situated in Upper Road, “Olde Yzerfontein” and is an elevated property with all rooms having spectacular 180 degree sea views across the bay from the main beach to the harbour allowing for excellent seasonal whale and dolphin watching. Wonderful viewing of the West Coast wild flowers are best during late August into early September.

ACCOMMODATION:
Up-market yet reasonably priced accommodation in this privately-owned residence comprises an entire, self-contained and private level of the house with all rooms having full sea views. Tastefully decorated, this self-catering home, sleeping 6 people, has 3 double bedrooms, providing the following accommodation options:

OPTION A: Full self catering house, sleeping up to 6 people:
The Green Room - Main bedroom, queen bed
The Bow Room - Twin room (can be made up to king)
The Yellow Room - Two ¾ beds (can be made up to an extra large king bed), en-suite bathroom (without shower), and private deck
The Green and Bow Rooms share a large family bathroom (with shower).

OPTION B: 2 bedroom self-catering unit, sleeping up to 4 people:
Sitting room, kitchen, Green and Bow Bedrooms, all leading onto the full length covered entertainment patio, and lower grassed level.

OPTION C: The Yellow Room, sleeping up to 2 people:
A lovely, sunny double bedroom en-suite (bath only) with private deck overlooking the bay and main beach, own entrance. No cooking facilities. DSTV / Satellite television, bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.

Cots for toddlers are not provided and guests are requested to make preferred bedding arrangements during full house bookings (6 adults).

FACILITIES:
A charming sitting room has an adjoining separate kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave oven, electric frying pan, dining table with 6 chairs and all necessary cooking equipment. DSTV / Satellite televisions are in the Sitting Room and separate Yellow Room.

The sitting room and all bedrooms have full sea views (simply wonderful when lying in bed) with glass sliding doors leading out to a large covered patio/entertainment area which extends the full length of the house facing the sea. Portable braai facilities are available.

A further grassed garden level is also for guests’ private use and gives direct access to the rocks via a public stairwell and across the road with a five minute stroll to the main beach either along the “dassie” rocks or the road.

Accommodation includes bed linen (white percale), soft towels, bath soaps, kitchen linen, dishwashing liquid. (Excludes Beach Towels). Guests simply have to bring along food, beach towels, personal items and perhaps binoculars. Charcoal and basic shopping is available in the village and it is recommended that food shopping be done in Cape Town prior to arrival.

About The Guest House 

Ocean Eleven Guest House is an Old World, Cape Cod, Colonial-style guest house, situated on the famous cliffs of Hermanus. Standard Rooms

Deluxe Rooms

There is a wide variety of Deluxe Rooms, three of which are situated near the pool - either upstairs or on ground level. The fourth room has a separate entrance and its own private balcony.

Finally, the fifth Deluxe Room is situated in the old house and has original floors, a walk-in dressing room and French Doors opening onto the garden. All are en suite with bath and shower.

ACCOMMODATION:
Our African-style one room-apartments are both about 33sqm in size, equal in furnishing and very light and friendly. They are both facing the garden and the big pool with a bit of a mountain view towards Chapman’s Peak.

Each apartment has a king sized bed, supplied with two single high-quality mattresses and 2 single bedding for your comfort. The lovely chosen satin bed linen let you sleep like in heaven. A big sleeper couch (160×200mm) turns easily into the perfect bed for two kids. A Baby-Cot can be supplied.

The beautifully decorated bathrooms have a shower and towels are included. Each kitchenette is equipped with a fridge/freezer, a microwave, 2 hot plates, water kettle, coffee machine, toaster and all the cutlery and crockery, pots, pans and bowls you need for preparing and enjoying light meals for a family of 4. A table and chairs complete your comfort.

There is a TV, private safe and additional Euro plugs in each apartment. A wireless internet device is available to rent. Braai facilities can be used in the garden. It is situated next to the cushioned Gazebo with it’s romantic fairy lights close to the pool.

We are a non-smoking establishment but you are free to smoke in the garden. Pets are not allowed. Laundry can be done by us. Sending of emails and faxes on request possible. ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS:
Go swimming in the warm waters of Fish Hoek beach (3,5km), diving and snorkelling in False Bay and with the penguins at Boulders. Surfing is popular at Kommetjie (5,5km). Ride horses in Noordhoek, Camels at Imhoff Farm or go for a walk in the surrounding Silvermine Nature Reserve (5km). Explore caves in our mountains or do rock climbing. Do the “baboon walk” or visit the very close Solole Game Reserve (2km) with it’s lovely restaurant and wellness area. Have a sundowner at Noordhoek beach ( 4km) or visit the nice restaurants in trendy Kalk Bay harbour, in historical Simonstown on the waters edge or in the Longbeach-Mall in walking distance (400m) from 2 Oceans Apartments. The big Mall also offers plenty of Shops, Supermarkets, Internet Cafe & Cinemas. Watch the whales in season or the birds all year long. Play Golf in Clovelly Country Club (5km) or do the Art Route in Noordhoek & Kommetjie.

A 20 Minute scenic drive over Chapman’s Peak Drive lead you to Hout Bay with it’s Seal Island, further to the famous Camps Bay beach, to the Waterfront and in the City Centre with Table Mountain. The Constantia Wine Estates are just over the mountain and invite you to taste the great South African wines and Kirstenbosch Gardens show you beautiful Proteas while you listen to the Sunday concerts in summer.

Another scenic route to the south leads you to the wild beaches of Scarborough, via an Ostrich Farm to the famous tip of the African continent: Cape Point N.P. All these attractions are easily reachable in a short drive from our apartments.

18 on Kloof Bed & Breakfast

18 on Kloof Bed & Breakfast is a 3 star guesthouse that promises you a memorable stay. We have five magnificent seaview bedrooms with DSTV, dvd, coffee/tea making facilities & bathrooms (of which four bathrooms are en-suite and one private).

In addition, 3 of these bedrooms have their own balconies whilst the other two have access to the main deck. The rooms are all tastefully decorated and equipped with white cotton percale linen.

Navona is a modern, comfortable, stylishly furnished, self-contained 2 bedroom loft apartment with two secure undercover parking bays. The apartment sleeps 2-4 persons. Navona is in a new secure complex to which access is strictly controlled.

Navona is centrally located only 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, in the hub of Cape Town’s trendy Kloof Street area and minutes away from the LongKloof Film Studios and the Hiddingh Campus of the University of Cape Town.

THE APARTMENT:

Nature’s Valley Guest House

Nature’s Valley, part of the Tsitsikamma National Park, comprising of 2560 ha, the only residential area inside a National Park, is a small hamlet with 50 houses permanently occupied by local residents.

Natures Valley Guest House is part of a thatched house called “Hikers Haven” and facilities include 2 en-suite rooms with private patios, 3 double rooms, with separate doors leading into tranquil garden.

Every morning you will be served with an optional hearty brekfast.

We have a separate little kitchen for self-catering and braai. T.V with Satellite channels, pool table etc. Guests can go canoeing on the lagoon or have a stroll in the Tsitsikamma forest, mountains and estauries.

There is 5km of beach within walking distance of the Guest House. Natures Valley Guest House is the ultimate Nature Stop - Spot dolphins, whales, bushbuk, wild pig, baboons and birds galore!

To appreciate the dramatic landscape of Natures Valley, the visitor needs to venture out by canoe or bike, on foot, or scuba trail, by boat or motorized glider, any way except the highway.

Activities in Nature’s Valley include canoeing, windsurfing and surfing. A variety of 2-3 hour hiking trails, (maps provided), offer a variety of nature- mountain peaks, or the giant Yellowwoods in the best part of the Tsitsikamma forest, where the shy Knysna loerie can be sure to fly overhead.

A walk along the ocean edge’s contours give way to scalloped bays, and estuaries, conjuring up images only Robinson Crusoe has experienced.

Natte Valleij

Natte Valleij - Accommodation in Klapmuts, Western Cape is one of the most beautiful farms in the area. They offer accommodation in two self-catering cottages (Vineyards and Cellar cottages), and a B&B unit situated off the courtyard of the main homestead, this consists of a double bedroom with bathroom.Vineyard Cottage (sleeps six) is set in the grounds of the historical farm Natte Valleij in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands.

Part of the cottage is the original dwelling built on the estate; the two central rooms still contain the original reed ceilings. The cottage contains 3 double bedrooms, two of which have their own bathrooms (one with shower), sitting room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen (no microwave). It has a stoep (patio) with braai (bbq), table and chairs. It has a small private garden. There is covered parking in the barn near the cottage. For winter visitors there is also a log fireplace in the sitting room  Cellar Cottage is situated next to the old wine cellars and has a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. It also has a stoep with braai, table and chairs. It is suitable for a couple, or a couple with one or two children.

There is a large well-established garden, which adds to Natte Valleij sense of history and mystique with its ancient oaks, pergolas and hidden pathways. There is a large swimming pool in the garden with a thatched rondavel and deck chairs. Horse riding is a speciality at Natte Valleij with stunning outrides through vineyards, forests and mountain valleys. Walks take you through similar scenery. The bird list has now reached 178 species.

There is plenty to do in the area too. Nature walks, Mountain biking, Golf, Trout fishing, Horse Riding.

Napthali Lodge

Napthali is an upmarket 5 bedroom house which can be rented as a complete house or other options include:

Downstairs - One self contained bedroom with its own kitchenette and lounge, Two bedrooms with separate kitchen lounge and dinning room,

Upstairs, there is a separate large lounge and dinning room, guest loo, with two bedrooms, one of which has a queen size brass bed. In all other bedrooms all, have twin beds and are extra long.

All bedrooms have there own balconies and one can sit outside capturing the magnificent views of the sea and mountain.

Napthali was built on the boundary of a National park, we often see the buck and many other game species and magnificent birds that roam and fly free on the mountain that will take you to Cape Point if you wish to walk.

All rooms have been designed with the guest in mind and have DSTV that one can watch on your bed or take the small table and chairs out onto the deck or just relax in a Quiet, Peaceful healing environment, with the sundeck and cushions provided.

We have provided a 10 seater table for the families that want to stay all together in one house for all their meals.

Outdoor Facilities

As we have mentioned before the 800 metre walk to the beaches that Napthali overlooks and the walking trails that start at the back of Napthali that will take you to Cape Point a 6 hour walk, walking past all the indigenous Fynbos. Of the five floral kingdoms in the world one is completely unique to the Western Cape. The Fynbos floral kingdom is one of the most diverse and includes many remarkable and beautiful varieties.

Napthali has gardens that have been designed by local landscape architects who have planted many species of indigenous trees and shrubs that the national parks would be proud of.

Golf and Squash is played at the local Country club only 800 away.

The fishing and scuba diving is fantastic and as we are the warm side of Cape Town one can swim up to the end of April.

The world famous Argus cycle tour passes just below us on the way to Cape Point and many guests book in for treatment the week before so as to get ready for the big race.

Whales are seen and heard from Napthali from May to November
each year.

False Bay is the home to pods of Southern Right Whales, who come to calve in our warmer southern waters.

Mount Joy Cottages

Our de Luxe one-bedroom cottage is extremely spacious, has been luxuriously finished and furnished and is large enough to conveniently accommodate four people, as a couch in the living room doubles as a very comfortable double bed.

It has a tasteful, open plan, yellow-wood kitchen and is equipped with a Microwave, colour TV, video facilities and modern bathroom.

Bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery are provided.

The other cottage is ideally suited for two people, although the couch in the living room may also double as a single bed. It is extremely cosy and comes with a small, but adequately equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bath, wall shower and toilet.

Whilst overlooking the beautiful Knysna Lagoon, our cottages are also perched high on a hill, in a large, magical garden surrounded by forest. They are certainly not typical holiday cottages and have been lovingly constructed and furnished to provide you with a home away from home. Special barbeque facilities have been constructed for your enjoyment.

This family-run Bed & Breakfast is situated in Paternoster, one of the oldest fishing villages on the West Coast of South Africa, only 90 minutes from Cape Town. Owners Petro and Koos We are committed to making your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

Koos and Petro offer comfortable cottage style rooms, with separate entrances. Relax on the sun deck or patio and enjoy the sea view or stroll along the pristine beaches, only 100 metres away. Sample delightful country breakfasts and typical West Coast hospitality in the dining room.

BREAKFAST:
Breakfast is prepared by us in your presence and is served in the main house with a homely atmosphere. The village offers two good restaurants for lunch and dinner, and we will gladly assist with recommendations and reservations. Both restaurants are within walking distance.

ACCOMMODATION:
Our 5 en suite rooms are decorated in a warm and comfortable cottage style with a choice of queen double or twin single beds. Two rooms are upstairs and have fireplaces and ceiling fans inside. These rooms lead out onto a sun deck from where there is a view to the ocean which is no more than 80 meters from the house. Two more rooms are downstairs.

There is also a two bedroom family unit sharing a bathroom, which makes it more affordable for a family of 3 or 4 persons. Children aged 15 years and older are welcome. All our rooms offer coffee and tea facilities and a small fridge.

A laundry service is available. Our facilities are smoke free and smoking is only allowed outside the rooms. We accept all major credit cards. The village offers a small store where basic foodstuffs can be obtained. Vredenburg is 15km away, and offers supermarkets, banks and medical products and services.

ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES: Places of interest in the area include the following:

Columbine Nature Reserve: This small Nature Reserve is 8 km from the village and offers lovely hikes along the picturesque coastline. During flower season (August – September) the reserve offers a wide variety of flower species. Outside the flower season the natural Strandveld is worth a visit. Columbine Lighthouse is open to the public and guided tours are offered.

West Coast Fossil Park: A fascinating range of extinct animal fossils are to be seen here. The list includes an African bear, lion-sized saber-toothed cats and short necked giraffe called Sivatheres.

West Coast National Park: The park surrounds the Langebaan lagoon, one of twelve world hotspots wader birds.

Berg River Estuary: Visit the Bokkom (dried fish) industry along the Berg river and take a boat trip to do bird watching.

A supermarket, hair salon, dry-cleaner and restaurant is also within walking distance for added convenience to our guests.

FACILITIES:

Adequate and secure off street parking is available within the premises, behind electronic gates. A sparkling and refreshing pool is also available to our guests. From the pool and garden area we have lovely views of the Helderberg Mountain as a backdrop and distant sea views in the front Pool and beach towels are provided.

ACCOMMODATION:

In total the Guest Lodge can sleep 16 people. Our units vary from a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with sitting area and equipped kitchen to garden facing luxury sized double rooms, each with separate kitchenette and private full en-suite bathroom (toilet, handbasin, shower and bath).

Our units are also equipped with TV, a coffee/tea facility, fridges, radios, safe and hair dryer. Other units consist of a 2 bedroom unit with a full bathroom and a standard unit with own ensuite. Some of the units have the added benefit of satellite (SKY) TV reception as an optional extra for those guests who like their sport or movies. E-mail, fax and Internet facilities are available as well as laundry. Barbeque (”braai) facilities are also available on site.

BREAKFAST:

If our guests are not into a self catering holiday then breakfast around the pool or on the patio outside their unit can always be arranged. Light meals can be arranged for lunch or supper and picnic hampers can be made up upon request.
