After your last breakfast at the Mvuu camp we leave the park in the vehicle around 09.00 AM and transfer back to Lilongwe where we arrive in the early afternoon hours.

Lilongwe Day 7
Enjoy game drives, game walks, boat ride and night drives accompanied with the guides of Mvuu Camp inside the Liwonde NP.
A population of 5 black rhino’s are living in a sanctuary within the park. Waterbuck, sable, impala and elephant are found close to the shire river. Further into the park more animals like lion, leopard and kudu can be spotted. The 370 species of birds of the park can be seen along the river and the boat ride on the Shire River offers an excellent opportunity to come really close to the many birds and animals depending on this beautiful river.

Liwonde National Park Day 6
After Breakfast at the Kuchawe Inn your driver will decent back to the Zomba town and transfer you to the Liwonde NP. We will arrive at Mvuu Camp around lunch time. Mvuu means hippo in Chichewa and the lodge is based along the hippo infested Shire River in the Liwonde National Park. The park is one of the finest wildlife reserves in Malawi. The staff of the Mvuu Camp will take over from our drivers during your stay in the National park.
Mvuu Camp is overlooking the beautiful Shire River, and accommodates in spacious fully furnished spacious chalets. The veranda of each of the chalets is raised towards the Shire river to ensure prime and discreet game viewing opportunities.

Liwonde National Park Day 5
Day 3
After breakfast on the Island we kayak back to mainland (or by motorboat). Your driver will be waiting for you on the mainland and be ready to transfer you the interesting colonial town of Zomba, the former capital of Malawi. Visit the colorful and busy markets to and enjoy lunch in town. We head up to the Zomba plateau where will be accommodated at the beautiful Kuchawe Inn Hotel build on the cliffs of the Zomba Plateau overlooking the pine forests of the Zomba valley.

Day 1
Depart from Lilongwe with your driver to Cape Maclear. We will stop at the famous Mua mission and museum which will give us a good view of the three main Malawian tribes of the Mua area; the Chewa, the Ngoni and the Yao. All the history, culture and rituals are exposed in this colourful museum.
We arrive in Cape Maclear around in the early afternoon and visit the base camp of Kayak Africa along the shores of Lake Malawi. Here we will enjoy our lunch, after we kayak (or motorboat) to the Island Mumba and stay and relax in the comfortable furnished tents of Kayak Africa’s lodge, built on the outskirts of the Island and providing the most exclusive views over Lake Malawi. We can swim, snorkel and dive on the Island, or explore the surroundings by foot.

On day 10 Early morning transfer to Cobue where we will board the Ilala, the nostalgic steamer of Lake Niassa/Malawi to ship us back to Nhkotakota, a small fishing town on the shores of lake Malawi. Our Vehicle will transfer us to the Nhkotatakota game reserve. Overnight stay at our bush camp in the reserve.
