Lilongwe Day 7

After your last breakfast at the Mvuu camp we leave the park in the vehicle around 09.00 AM and transfer back to Lilongwe where we arrive in the early afternoon hours.

Liwonde National Park Day 6

Enjoy game drives, game walks, boat ride and night drives accompanied with the guides of Mvuu Camp inside the Liwonde NP.

A population of 5 black rhino’s are living in a sanctuary within the park. Waterbuck, sable, impala and elephant are found close to the shire river. Further into the park more animals like lion, leopard and kudu can be spotted. The 370 species of birds of the park can be seen along the river and the boat ride on the Shire River offers an excellent opportunity to come really close to the many birds and animals depending on this beautiful river.

Liwonde National Park Day 5

After Breakfast at the Kuchawe Inn your driver will decent back to the Zomba town and transfer you to the Liwonde NP. We will arrive at Mvuu Camp around lunch time. Mvuu means hippo in Chichewa and the lodge is based along the hippo infested Shire River in the Liwonde National Park. The park is one of the finest wildlife reserves in Malawi. The staff of the Mvuu Camp will take over from our drivers during your stay in the National park.
Mvuu Camp is overlooking the beautiful Shire River, and accommodates in spacious fully furnished spacious chalets. The veranda of each of the chalets is raised towards the Shire river to ensure prime and discreet game viewing opportunities.

Zomba Day 3-4

Day 3
After breakfast on the Island we kayak back to mainland (or by motorboat). Your driver will be waiting for you on the mainland and be ready to transfer you the interesting colonial town of Zomba, the former capital of Malawi. Visit the colorful and busy markets to and enjoy lunch in town. We head up to the Zomba plateau where will be accommodated at the beautiful Kuchawe Inn Hotel build on the cliffs of the Zomba Plateau overlooking the pine forests of the Zomba valley.

Distance: 150 km first 15 km over dirt road the rest tarmac, (distance kayaking 10 Km).

Day 4
Spend the day on the Zomba plateau hiking up to the many waterfalls and stunning viewpoints.

Cape Maclear Day 1-2

Day 1
Depart from Lilongwe with your driver to Cape Maclear. We will stop at the famous Mua mission and museum which will give us a good view of the three main Malawian tribes of the Mua area; the Chewa, the Ngoni and the Yao. All the history, culture and rituals are exposed in this colourful museum.

We arrive in Cape Maclear around in the early afternoon and visit the base camp of Kayak Africa along the shores of Lake Malawi. Here we will enjoy our lunch, after we kayak (or motorboat) to the Island Mumba and stay and relax in the comfortable furnished tents of Kayak Africa’s lodge, built on the outskirts of the Island and providing the most exclusive views over Lake Malawi. We can swim, snorkel and dive on the Island, or explore the surroundings by foot.

Accommodation: Fully furnished walk in safari tents build on wooden platforms with magnificent views over lake Malawi.
Distance: 300 km first 15 km and last 30 Km over dirt road the rest tarmac, (distance kayaking 10 Km).
Travelling time : approximately 4.5 hours, (extra kayaking time about 2 hours, motorboat transfer 30 minutes)

Day 2
Stay the whole day on the magnificent Island to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

On day 15 After breakfast, kayak back to the mainland (or by motorboat). Transfer back to Lilongwe.

Luxury Safari Day 13

After breakfast transfer to Cape maclear. Here we will Kayak to Island of Mumba and stay and relax at lodge on the Mumba Island. We can swim, snorkel and dive on the Island, or explore the surroundings by foot.

Luxury Safari Day 11&12

After breakfast, game walk along the Bua river searching for the many elephant herds domestic to the reserve. Transfer via the famous Mua Mission and museum to the Liwonde NP.

Luxury Safari Day 9&10

On day 10 Early morning transfer to Cobue where we will board the Ilala, the nostalgic steamer of Lake Niassa/Malawi to ship us back to Nhkotakota, a small fishing town on the shores of lake Malawi. Our Vehicle will transfer us to the Nhkotatakota game reserve. Overnight stay at our bush camp in the reserve.

Luxury Safari Day 8

After Breakfast we will be transferred by boat to the shore of Mozambique where the Manda Wilderness team will be awaiting for us to take us to the Mchenga Nkwichi Lodge inside the Manda Wilderness reserve. We stay two days at this beautiful paradise.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip of Cheldinda to catch the flight to Likoma Island.
Arrive at Likoma Island and transfer to the Kaya Mawa Lodge.

On day 7 Stay the whole day on Likoma Island. Visit the village the beach and the Cathedral .

Early morning gamewalk along the shores of Lake Kazuni.
Depart after breakfast at our bush camp to the Nyika NP.
Settle down at the chalets of Chelinda camp. Night drive over the plateau.

After Breakfast we departure via Mzuzu, to the Vwaza Marsh game reserve.
We put up our bush camp overlooking Lake Kazuni inside the Game Reserve.

We spent the whole day on the Viphya plateau exploring the many walking trails through the forest.

Arrive at Lilongwe International Airport.

Hiking Experience safari Day 7 (Sunday):

In the morning there is the option to join a boat safari on the Shire and experience the diversity of life on the river. Or for the more adventurous join an early morning walking safari before departing to Lilongwe.

Hiking Experience safari Day 6 (Saturday):

After an early breakfast depart to Liwonde National Park, stopping on the way at some superb local craft stables. Liwonde NP, the best game park in Malawi, is well known for its population of 5 black rhinos living at a sanctuary within the Park. After setting up camp we enjoy our lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Mvuu Campsite. Spend the rest of the day in camp or take an optional game drive and/or night drive. Enjoy dinner accompanied by the mysterious wildlife sounds of the National Park.

Hiking Experience safari Day 5 (Friday):

Early morning departure from CCAP hut back to the Likabula Forest Station. Leaving Mulanje behind we then drive to Blantyre, the commercial and industrial capital of Malawi stopping for lunch along the way. The afternoon can be spent exploring the cities vibrant streets or relaxing in the green gardens of Doogles Lodge where we will be setting up camp. Dinner is served around the campfire.

Hiking Experience safari Day 4 (Thursday):

Enjoy the amazing changing scenery, the waterfalls and valleys as we hike from the Chambe hut to CCAP hut.

Hiking Experience safari Day 3 (Wednesday):

Early morning departure to the impressive Mulanje mountain. Hike from Likabula Forest Station to Chambe Hut. Spend the night in the hut and enjoy a simple dinner, cooked on the fireplace in the hut.

Hiking Experience safari Day 2 (Tuesday):

Spend the day discovering the delights of Zomba plateau. Hike to the many stunning viewpoints enjoying the fabulous scenery of the forest, waterfalls and lakes. For those who may wish to explore the plateau in a less active way a trip in our safari vehicle can also be arranged.

Hiking Experience safari Day 1 (Monday):

Drive to the breathtaking Zomba plateau, where we set up camp and spend the afternoon exploring the pine forest and enjoying the spectacular vista. Relax for the first evening at the camp or having a sundowner at the nearby beautiful Kuchawe Inn. Dinner is served around the campfire.

Lake Malawi Day 6 (Saturday): & Day 7 (Sunday):

Spend the morning relaxing on the beach, and taking in the sights and sounds of the village. Breakfast and lunch will be served from the camp allowing you to make the most of your free day. That evening we will dine in a restaurant in the fishing village and spend the night under the beautiful stars on the beach.
Next day return back to Lilongwe, stopping to barter for goods at a local craft market along the way.

Lake Malawi Day 5 (Friday):

In the morning there is the option to join a boat safari on the hippo infested waters of the Shire River. Or for the more adventurous join an early morning walking safari before departing to Cape Maclear. On arrival we set up our camp on the tropical white beaches of Lake Malawi and prepare lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing, swimming or snorkeling in the lake or visit the nearby Islands in a local dugout canoe. Options also include joining an expedition to the exclusive treasure island of Mumba where you will spend the evening before returning to camp the following day. For those remaining dinner will be served on the beach.

After an early breakfast depart to Liwonde the best game park in Malawi, stopping on the way at some superb local craft stables. After setting up camp we enjoy our lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Mvuu Campsite. Spend the rest of the day in camp or take an optional game drive and/or night drive. Enjoy dinner accompanied by the mysterious wildlife sounds of the National Park.

Zomba plateau Day 2 (Tuesday): & Day 3 (Wednesday):

After breakfast departure to Zomba plateau. Stop at the interesting colonial town of Zomba, the former capital of Malawi. Visit the colorful and busy markets to buy our fresh supplies for the next few days. We then head onto the Plateau where we set up camp amongst the tall Pine trees. Relax for the evening at camp or have a sundowner at the nearby beautiful Kuchawe Inn. Dinner is served around the campfire.
Spend the day on the Zomba plateau hiking up to the many waterfalls and stunning viewpoints. An excursion in the safari vehicle is available for those who wish to explore the plateau in a less active way.

Blantyre Day 1 (Monday):

Depart from our Camp in Lilongwe and head to Blantyre, the commercial and industrial capital of Malawi. Lunch on route. Spend the afternoon exploring the cities vibrant streets. Set up camp in the green gardens of Doogles Lodge. Dinner will be served at our camp.
