Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (1 day)

Description:A day excursion from Kampala to the Ziwa Rhino Sancturay
Excursion.
Late morning, depart form Kampala driving northwest along the road to Gulu and Masindi. Enjoy the view of typical African countryside and rural subsistence farming. The drive is 2 hours. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was created by the Rhino Fund Uganda for the breeding of rhinos which will later be re-introduced into Uganda’s Protected Areas. On arrival have lunch; buffet with 8 delicious local dishes. In the afternoon, start on the rhino tracking which includes taking a drive and a bit of a walk. While tracking the rhinos, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and other wildlife present on the ranch including bushbuck, leopard, Uganda kob, oribi, crocodiles, hippo and the prize-winning cattle. This takes approximately two hours. Return to Kampala in the evening.
Rhino
Rhinos once roamed the savannahs and woodlands of Uganda but were wiped out by war in the early 1980’s. These magnificent animals are one of the endangered species in the world; slow breeders, they give birth to one calf every two to four years. In 1968 more than 100 Northern White Rhino lived in Uganda. The last rhino was seen in 1983.

Out Of Africa, Giraffe Center (1/2 day)

Description:Leave Nairobi after lunch and drive out towards the Ngong Hills and the suburb of Karen, named after Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen) author of ‘Out of Africa’. Here you will visit her home, overlooking the Ngong Hills, which is now a Museum. After time to walk around, drive a short distance to Kazuri Beads and watch the making of handmade jewellry. Move on to the Giraffe Centre which is the home of the Rothschild Giraffe (made famous in the book ‘Saving Daisy Rothschild’). Here you will have a chance to feed the giraffe and watch a film about this species while enjoying tea. Return to Nairobi in the early evening at the end of your excursion.

Pick up will be at approximately 2.00 pm from city centre hotels. Return will be around dusk at the end of your excursion.

Orphan Elephants and Giraffe Center (4 hours)

Description:Visit the Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Center and Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.
Excursion
This tour departs from your hotel at around 10 am. You drive out towards the Ngong Hills, to the west of Nairobi City center, to visit the orphaned elephants, and possibly rhino, and hear their stories. Watch them being fed and playing. See the Rotheschild Giraffe up close, and feed them at the Giraffe Center, and afterwards have a delicious lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden which is nearby (pay direct for lunch).

Nairobi National Park (1/2 day)

Type : Short Excursions Duration: 1/2 day
Description:A short way out of Nairobi lies the National Park. During the afternoon you will explore the whole area, possibly viewing a variety of plains game, maybe the lion and cheetah resident in the park and certainly enjoying the birdlife. You may see the buffalo near the forest or encounter a rhino during your drive. You will spend some time at the animal orphanage.

Pick up around 1400. Return to your hotel in the early evening.

Nairobi City Tour (2 hours)

Description:This two hour tour takes visitors around the main areas of interest in the city, including the historic areas with time spent in the National Museum and Snake Park. There will be opportunities for photography as you go along.
Morning
Pick up is at approximately 10.00 am from city centre hotels. Return to the hotel after the tour just after mid-day.

Mburo National Park (1 day)

Description:A day visiting Lake Mburo National Park.
The Excursion
You will be collected from Munyonyo Speke Resort at 06.30 am and drive to Lake Mburo National Park / 4 HOURS. You may stop at the Mpigi Drum Makers en route where you will be able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will be time to stop at the equator for photographs. Enter the park through the Nshara Gate.Go for a game drive along the Lakeshore track. The Kopjes are particularly interesting and camouflage klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankore cattle peaceably. Have your lunch break which should be taken leisurely enjoying the view of the lakes in the park. Drive back to Kampala in the afternoon arriving early evening.
Mburo National Park
The parks sculptured landcape with rolling grassy hills and idyllic lakeshores has a varied mosaic of habitats: forest galleries, rich acacia tree valleys, seasonal and permanent swamps which all support a wealth of wildlife. The park is only 370sq km and the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks. Its mosaic habitat: dry hillside, rocky outcrops, bushes, thickets, open and wooded savannahs, forests, lakes and swamps are home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals.

Limuru Tour - Tea Estate (1/2 day)

Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru (1 day)

Description:An early morning drive out of Nairobi and down the escarpment into the Great Rift Valley. You drive on past the extinct volcano - Mt. Longonot - to arrive in the Nakuru National Park - an ornithologist’s paradise, the home to a variety of plains game, larger herds of buffalo, rhino and a variety of predators. The day is spent driving around the Park with lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge and a chance to relax and enjoy the views over the lake.
Full Day
Pick up will be between 8.00 and 8.30 am. Return to your hotel will be in the early evening.

Carnivore Restaurant (2 hours)

Type : Short Excursions Duration: 2 hours
Description:Lunch or dinner at the Carnivore restaurant which is renowned for its barbecued meat (including a variety of game meat) cooked on huge spits. The Simba Saloon which is attached to the restaurant offers some of Nairobi’s best nightlife entertainment.

Drive a short way out of Nairobi to the Carnivore restaurant which is built close to the Nairobi National Park. Enjoy a famous ‘dawa’ (vodka and fresh lime with honey - ‘dawa’ in Swahili means medicine!) and relax over your chosen meal.
