PILLI PIPA DHOW SAFARI

Pilli Pipa Dhow is run by Harm, a PADI dive instructor, and Selina, a Marine Biologist and Aquaculturist. The Arab styled dhow departs Shimoni Jetty from 8:30 a.m. onwards and returns at approximately 4:30 p.m. Enjoy a fascinating guided snorkeling safari in the Kisite - Mpunguti Marine Park. Kisite has an extensive reef system and is home to dolphins, turtles, an exciting variety of coral life and an abundance of vibrantly coloured tropical fish. Snorkeling is followed by the exhilarating experience of a under sail, weather permitting, on the way to Wasini Island for a memorable sea food lunch.

The Al-Fresco lunch, with wine and soft drinks included, is served in a private garden on this unspoilt island. Numbers are limited to minimise the impact on Kisite's fragile marine environment. Delicious seafood is prepared for you on the island of Wasini, and served at the waters edge overlooking the channel. From here you can often see dolphins and many varieties of birds as you lunch and relax in these peaceful surroundings.For your comfort and enjoyment we recommend that you bring water friendly shoes, Hat Swimming Costume, Towel, good Sun Protection, Money for purchase of local handicrafts.

We have an underwater camera for hire. There are no drinks provided on the bus.The dhow "Pilli-Pipa" is more correctly referred to as an Arabian Red Sea Sambuk. This beautiful motorised dhow is built of teak and is well equipped including buoyancy jackets, inboard WC, cushioned seats and snorkeling equipment. Her fully trained crew and marine guide ensure the passengers' every comfort. A dive base has been put together with senior instructors Harm and Selina. Clients are invited to undertake day dives, or a series of dive packages based from Shimoni. Full gear is available and a high standard of instruction and care is undertaken.
